Flux Factory and New York based collective The Metric System joined forces this summer to host a Science Fair in Long Island City. Colablablab, which fit the mandate of work at the intersection of art and science, had the opportunity to display artifacts, documentation, objects and specimens from our semester-long experiment at VCUarts. Thanks to Colablablaborators Jessica Dodd and Rebecca Henderson who masterminded the installation and to “Sponge Researcher” Beranger LeFranc who “manned” our booth with aplomb. And, we’d like to humbly report that for our efforts the group was awarded a shiny gold motorcycle trophy for being, “Most Empirically Rebellious.”
The show took place at the Flux Factory headquarters on the subsequent weekends of June 4-6 and June 11-13, 2010. Here’s a peek:
